Who Am I?
My name is Satrap, an Iranian-American refugee that left my home country of Iran in search of freedom and a better life. I arrived in the U.S. in September of 2002.
I have since been living in Saint Louis, Missouri, right in the heartland of America, and I love it here!
I live with my lovely girlfriend Amanda and my beautiful dog who we rescued (actually I think she rescued us!) from the Humane Society of Missouri in 2007.

My Quest
Ever since I arrived here, I have been trying to improve my life financially and spiritually. My quest for the American dream and financial freedom lead me to pursue all kinds of financial opportunities.
One of those interesting money making opportunities that I pursued was taking online surveys for money. Since 2007, I have been a member of over 25 paid survey panels and have made over $35,000 taking online surveys.
Of course, this money wasn’t earned in a day or week or even a month as some people would want you to believe. My survey earnings are the results of participating in online market research studies for the last 5-6 years, off and on.
Needless to say, I am not mentioning my earnings to brag, it’s just to show you (and any skeptic out there!) that you can indeed earn money from taking surveys. You won’t get rich, and you won’t make thousands overnight, but you can earn a nice chunk of change.
Mission Statement
Through out these years, I have worked with many reputable and trusted market research companies. However, I also came across lots of paid survey scams. As you can imagine, it made it harder to find real survey sites.
Then I realized most other people who are interested in becoming paid survey takers would probably face the same issues and troubles finding legitimate panels to work with as well.
That is why I decided to create Survey Satrap as source of honest paid survey reviews where people like you can read real and honest reviews about various survey panels.
How is SurveySatrap Different?
Here is how most other survey “review” sites work:
They write about any site that pays them to recruit new members. Its called affiliate marketing (you can learn more about it here on Wikipedia). Nothing wrong with that. It’s a great way to earn money. In fact, I do make money with affiliate marketing as well, and I even earn a few dollars when you join some of the sites mentioned here on SurveySatrap.
But the problem with those fake review sites is that they don’t actually review these panels. As long as it has an affiliate program that pays them for getting new members, they will recommend it to you, regardless of whether or not the site is scam or legit.
In fact, its common to see some of the most famous scam sites being recommended by these so called “survey review” sites.
Another ridiculous thing about these review sites is that somehow you never find a single site that they don’t recommend. Of course we know why that is – they only “review” sites that pay them to refer new members. So obviously since they get paid when you register, they will recommend them to you.
Needless to say, most of these people who review these survey panels don’t even have an account with them. How can you review a site if you are not even a member of it?…
At SurveySatrap, things are different. I will actually personally sign up with each and every survey site I plan to review. Furthermore, since I have been a member of some of these sites for a long time, I will actually try to register a new account to get a more fresher and up to date look at them.
Also, you will find that I review all kinds of sites, even those who don’t compensate me for referring new members. In fact, you can use my Contact page to get in touch with me if you want me to take a look at a particular paid survey site you have come across and want to know more about.
I will try to be as detailed, through, honest and unbiased as I can be in each and every single review I write here. That is my promise.
What You Should Know
I would love to sit here and tell you that the ONLY reason I made this site is to help people. I know most review sites do say that. But that’s a big fat lie. All review site’s first goal is to make money.
I too want to make money, but I will not sacrifice my integrity and honestly and recommend you to a scam site just so I can make a few bucks.
Believe me, if there was no cost in running and maintaining this site, I wouldn’t even use affiliate links. But I have to pay for domain, hosting, hours and hours spend on researching and writing reviews etc. And the only way to do that is to use affiliate links on legit sites that I recommend to you.
That said, you won’t lose anything. Every site I recommend here is free to join. So, it’s not like you lose anything here. It’s just that in order to attract new panel members, some of these market research companies pay commission to people who send them new members. Its something many big companies uses. Its simply another form of advertising.
Now, if you have problem with using my links when signing up for any site I recommend here, simply ignore my link and type in the site official address into your browser and sign up that way. The only difference would be that I won’t get a commission when you sign up, everything else will be the same for you.
