Treasure Trooper Review: a Real Treasure Hunt or a Scam?

Treasure Trooper is one of those sites that operate on the GPT (Get Paid To) model, which I have recently began to review the sites belonging to this industry.

I first found out about TT when searching for different ways to make money from home. This was also the time when I thought that GPT sites were the only options for people like me.

TreasureTrooper.com has been on the scene for a lengthy period of time and works like any other get paid to site such as CashCrate,– fill out or complete offers, answer surveys, and make money in the process.

A Little Background

TreasureTrooper, LLC is filed as a Domestic Limited Liability Company (LLC). It is completely free and pays you money for doing many different things. Some examples of these things include taking surveys, trial offers and even shopping at online stores. The site also offers prizes, rewards and even contests to its members.

The site allows people residing in all nations to become members but most of its offers are targeted towards Canada, USA and UK residents.

Since it was launched in the year 2005, TT claims to have paid almost $6,000,000 to its users. Now, I couldn’t find any proof corroborating this claim so I’ll leave it up to you whether to believe this claim or not.

When I looked at their profile on bbb.org, I noticed an alert by the BBB about the site. It says

On at least one occasion, the BBB sent mail to this company in an attempt to develop a report. The mail was returned by the Post Office; therefore a complete BBB report at this time is unavailable.

Since I couldn’t find any more info on TT’s official site, I really don’t know what to make of this issue. It could be that they really have moved to a new location and haven’t updated their profile or…?

I also noticed the site was given a F rating which I believe the above issue is the reason for this poor rating. But surprisingly there were only 3 total complaints against the company. Considering that GPT sites usually do get a lot of complaints, TreasureTrooper must be doing something right on that front.

That is something that certainly I don’t like to see when reviewing a site that otherwise seems to be legit and paying.

But the most convincing proof about Treasure Trooper’s genuineness was its highly active user forum. I for one, was glad that the site allowed its members to interact amongst each other so freely.

I say this because I know many GPT sites gag their members from saying anything negative (but true) and negating any sort of feedback from them. The forum, on the other hand, lets you get in touch with other members as well their staff!

Treasure Trooper has got a lot of people gushing about the promise it holds. In the GPT category, the site is touted to be among the best, and although my initial impression of the site wasn’t exactly great (thanks to the Indiana Jones theme), I still decided to give it a shot and see how it works.

You can sign-up with the site for free. You can also start making money with the site the next instant after confirming your new account and logging in.

Upon your first login, you’ll see that your account already has a balance of $3, which is their sign-up bonus for you.

Making Money

Upon logging in to your account, you are presented with a huge selection of offers. The pay with these offers is also quite good and depends upon the kind of offer. For instance, credit card and trial offers tend to have the highest pay.

Once you complete any offer, you must click on a button titled “Done” in order to get properly credited.

Once you have completed an offer, it is moved to the pending offers section in your account. As for the waiting time for the credit, it can take anywhere between 3 days to even 4 weeks.

This is so because at times, the site needs to get offers confirmed with the companies. However, my personal favorites are the surveys sent via email. While taking only a few minutes, these surveys compensate you very attractively at around $0.25-$1.00/survey upon completion.

And this might sound weird but the site also rewards you with pearls or gold coins for playing games. You can redeem your earned coins at what’s known as Mabuto’s Trading Hut for great prizes like gift cards, Xbox 360s, iPods, and many more. Furthermore, there are also many contests carrying rewards of gold coins.

Another method through which you can earn money with Treasure Trooper is by shopping online.

The site gives you a list of online merchants with whom it has a tie-up. These merchants/stores will offer you cash back upon buying stuff from them. I find this very useful in instances when I’ve already decided a purchase and an online store has what I want.

As far as surveys are concerned, the average pay with Treasure Trooper is around $1/survey. However, the compensation for completing offers ranges from $5-$50.

The best method to make money with this site might just be via referral marketing. Their referral program pays one of the highest commissions going around; 20% on the first level followed by 5% on the second level.

There have been more than just a few reports of members making hundreds of dollars through referrals alone.

The referral earning system enables you to earn a sizable amount of money from two different tiers.

For instance, the site pays you 25% of what your referrals make. Additionally, you can also make 5% of the income earned by the referrals of your referrals! This is one reason why TT is popular and well-reviewed among people today.

Another great thing about the site is the low minimum cash out figure. You only need to have $20 before you are able to request payment via check.

As for the downsides, you can’t derive the full potential of your rewards if you reside outside the United States. Although some cash can be made through certain surveys, majority of the well-paying rewards remain out of bound.

You can also get rewarded through other ways. One such way is the tokens that can be redeemed for different prizes. Although it could take a long while for you to accumulate enough tokens, you do stand to earn cool stuff like iPods once you do so.

Payments

Treasure Trooper credits your account the moment your completed offers get approved. Once you reach the minimum cash out figure of $20, you can put in a payment request.

Most of the times, a payment request is processed on every month’s 15th day. It is subsequently sent to you before the 20th of that same month. However, residents of the United States can request for an instant payment if they have a minimum of $20 in their accounts.

In case you are not able to collect the minimum cashing out amount, your accumulated balance is added to your earnings’ of the following month.

Is the Site Worth it?

If you are one of those asking yourself “Is Treasure Trooper Safe?”, I can tell you with certainty that it is. There are countless people out there benefiting from the extra money they earn with GPT sites such as TT.

However, it’s easy to fall in the trap where you are being promised earnings of thousands of dollars every month through such sites. Now, even though there might be more than just a few who earned that much, I urge you to consider them as the exceptions rather than the rule.

Also, you’d be doing yourself a world of good by opting for a separate email account for use on this site and others of its ilk. When you register at an offers site, your email account is bound to be flooded with a lot of junk mail. Surely, you wouldn’t want that mess in your personal inbox!

The same also holds true for your telephone number. Don’t give it out in an offer even if asked as otherwise, you risk being pestered with telemarketing calls. Instead, head to k7.net and create a free and web based telephone number for use in those offers.

Although, Treasure Trooper isn’t exactly a scam, I’m not recommending it due to the limited experience and time I have with the site. Actually, I didn’t hang around long enough to even get paid but I can confirm that the site does pay. This I concluded from the many posts the site’s members have made in the ‘Payment Proof’ section.

In the end, as its evident from this review, signing up for Treasure Trooper does indeed help you earn a decent amount of cash but I’m not convinced if the end result is worth the time you invest into this site.
