Shopper’s Voice Review: Legit Survey Site or Scam with Tons of Complaints?

Post updated on: February 15, 2016

Shopper’s Voice is a fairly new setup that focuses on polling market input with regards to consumer products.

The company’s motto is “Speak your mind, Make a difference, and Win cash prizes”, expressed via their consumer product survey. In a sense it pays you to take surveys, at least this is what the company conveys.

It also has a web face to it and it is called Online Shopper’s Voice Consumer Product Survey.

The general survey takes no more than 10 minutes to complete, and fans have been clamoring its “easy, free, fast, fun way” to participate, so that they can provide opinions and insights to their favorite products and services.

It also represents an avenue for consumers to have a say in the design of new products and services.

The incentives here include money-saving coupons, cash sweepstakes, special offers and free samples, of course only upon completion of the corresponding surveys.

Your participation will also allow you free entry to the Shopper’s Voice consumer panel.

The bolts and nuts of it

As mentioned earlier, there is no fee involved to become a member here, and plenty of rewards to boost!

And it is a good thing that they don’t force you to buy anything before you become a member, never!

Before you get admitted to the Shopper’s Voice panel, you have to fill up a Consumer Product Survey and membership is bestowed on you automatically.

The first survey will take no more than 15 minutes to run through.

Upon completion of the survey, you will become a full-fledged member of the Shopper’s Voice consumer panel.

If this is done through the conventional land mail way, you will be what is called a postal member, and if this is done online, you are classified as an online member.

What you will find out immediately is that as soon as the survey is over, you will get to hear from concerned companies on “valuable offers”. These offers are made correspondingly in accordance to your responses to the related survey.

Occasionally, you may also get to receive invitations from the competitor companies to earn rewards, either after the completion of surveys or acceptance of the offers.

While there are two classifications of memberships, the system works fairly. If you are a postal member, you will get both mail and electronic offers if your e-mail address is provided. Similarly, for online members, they can expect to get offers sent to their home address as well if this is clearly indicated during membership application.

At the time of writing, this panel is restricted to just the United States and Canada residents only.

Rewards

Every participation and completion of individual online survey will earn you a chance to the $10,000 Grand Prize draw.

In addition, you also gain entry to the monthly prize draws with a price being a $500 Gift Card.

What make this website stands apart from the competition is that most sites would compel you to take on a certain number of surveys before you can chalk up enough points to redeem for rewards.

But at Shopper’s Voice, you can choose to do only once for the entire year but still get to enjoy the rewards.

The members at Shopper’s Voice consumer panel will continue to receive ongoing rewards either by postal mail or email.

And these are useful rewards, from high-value to money-saving coupons, free samples to valuable offers.

Depending on what sort of household information you provided to them in the preliminary survey, some of the things you are entitled to include:

  • Automatic entry into their survey sweepstakes
  • Ongoing special offers, money-saving coupons, and relevant information from their network of trusted marketing partners
  • Receive invitations to participate in pre-launch survey. Through this manner, you will have a direct influence on how the marketing campaign is going to be structured. What’s more is that this affords you to have direct input on the kind of products you would like to buy it from the manufacturers.

Shopper’s Voice Complaints

My biggest complaint is that the site, although not a genuine market research panel, tries to convey people that it is.

In a strict sense, you should not see Shopper’s Voice as another market research company.

Instead, try to view them as the mouthpiece of the market.

They gather and collate the consumers’ personal information and transfer this data with their sponsors, who in turn will get in touch with you via advertisements, coupons, and marketing offers.

The conduct is different from conventional market research companies that collect individuals personal information so that they can revert with surveys which will earn members rewards or cash upon completion.

In case of Shopper’s Voice, they collect and share your personal information so that manufacturers and companies can get engaged with you directly.

If such scheme that gives out discount coupons and special offers interests you, bear this game rule in mind.

Very likely many companies and manufacturers would love to contact you as you declared your potential interest.

Can’t really do much on postal mail, but on email side, maybe it is wise to set up a separate email ID for this purpose only, so that you can draw a line between work/personal emails from offers emails.
