One of the oldest yet most unknown survey panels that deserves a review is TestSpin. This site has been around for a long time, but surprisingly, not many people know about it.
I think it’s mostly because they don’t advertise much. Whatever the reason may be, I decided to review TestSpin since I have been a panel member of this site for almost 6 years now.
TestSpin, The Company
TS is basically an internet marketing research company that offers affordable and easy to use research solutions on the web. The parent company of the website is Testspin Inc. and it’s based out of Calabasas, California. The site boasts of more than 11 million members apart from a near faultless payout history.
Join Point Club, a new survey site that earns you rewards from Games, Deals, Video and even Celebrity Gossip.
This firm is well-known for bringing into use the latest technologies concerning online marketing research. A good example of the same is a fully automated panel that serves both consumers and advertisers alike.
The site is also a Better Business Bureau accredited business, but at the time of writing this article, there was no rating for the site because of this:
BBB is currently updating its files on all businesses in the Greater Los Angeles area and pending that review, a BBB rating is unavailable. However, this business is Accredited by BBB, which means that the business has committed to meeting our standards.
I will check back and update this post if the status changes.
Membership at this Site
As long as you are 13 years of age, you can join this site. You can register with the site by following a link for the same on their website.
Try Swagbucks, the famous rewards program that pays you for watching videos, taking surveys, shopping and more.
You are required to provide your email ID and some personal information for signing-up. Once you are done with these formalities, you become eligible to take their surveys, which are delivered to you via mail.
The site sends out surveys every alternate day or thereabouts. Almost half among these surveys are geared towards Business/IT professionals and pay around $3-$4. The rest of the surveys are targeted at the general populace with the pay being low at $1-$2.
Beware that you are not issued invites to every available survey and even in case an invite is sent, it doesn’t assure you of qualification. All clients have their own specific requirements.
So, for example, a few surveys are targeted at mothers of 2 year old infants who prefer certain products. So, if your profile fits the qualification, you’ll be invited. However, you might actually not qualify in case your child doesn’t take a liking to the product in question.
Typically, a survey is completed over a 6-8 week period as it contains more than one segment with some being overseas. Once a survey is completed, the website receives the usernames of people who completed the entire survey.
The website then matches these usernames with the list of people they sent out invites to. If you complete a survey for which you received an invite, expect the payment for the same to arrive in around 30 days.
Redeeming Your Earnings
This site has the strangest reward system I’ve ever come across. You are paid by the site with “Testspin dollars”. But if you want to redeem them, they’ll then can be converted into RedeemItNow points. Only then can these points be exchanged for many different rewards like gift certificates, cash via PayPal and FREE products from www.redeemitnow.com.
The above site is their new center exclusively meant for rewards where members can exchange their accumulated points for various things like PayPal cash, gift codes from Amazon.com, and even free products.
Logging into RedeemItNow with the email ID and password you used for your Testspin is possible.
As for the minimum cash out limit, you need to have at least 10,000 points before being allowed to redeem via RedeemItNow. Also, all cash outs using RedeemItNow can be done in 10,000 point slabs only.
Testspin is very serious about members engaging in dishonest and fraudulent activity. As such, the site is only looking to entertain honest members as its business volumes directly depend on the honesty of its member’s opinions.
A simple glance of their terms states that the site enjoys the right to cancel your account for any reason which is followed by emailing you the remaining balance in terms of gift certificates.
Your account can also be closed in case of violation of the site’s Terms of Agreement. In such an event, not only is your account closed but all credit from your bank account also stands violated.
As I mentioned in this review, the majority of Testspin’s surveys are geared towards Business/IT professionals. So, your chances of qualifying are dim if you do not belong to either of those categories. In other words, people without a business background will be wasting their time with this site. I would instead go with other panels like SurveyHead.
Although the site is legit, the low earning potential makes me not want to recommend it, here is TestSpin’s sign up form if you still want to give it a try for yourself.
